The Finow Canal is the waterway with the largest number of locks in our region. All are still hand-operated by lock keepers.

Along the Finow Canal, you pass through locks comfortably and without stress.
Logbook entry: "Passing through locks is no problem as the lock keepers inform each other of the boats that are coming through. This means that you generally pass through an open lock."
The locks are meeting places where you can also acquire information. There is always time for a quick chat.

Our tip would be to head downstream through the locks of the Finow Canal at a leisurely pace and then allow yourself to be raised up to the Havel-Oder waterway again on the ship's hoist.
